Welcome to the parish websiteThe separate villages of Barkestone, Plungar & Redmile were grouped into one parish in 1936. The three small villages, with a combined adult population of 650, are set geographically in the Vale of Belvoir and administratively in Leicestershire and the Borough of Melton. Overlooked by Belvoir Castle, home of the Duke of Rutland the villages are linked by the disused Grantham canal. Contact the Parish Clerk for Parish or general queries. Parish Council meetings are held on the Second Monday of January, March, May, July, September and November. Additional meetings may be called if required. See the calendar for further information including, when appropriate, the agenda and minutes. Also see the village notice boards for the formal posted notice. |
